About the Installation
A Life-sized dollhouse of waste, F.O.A.M. The Found Objects Art Museum (2005 -2007) was an art installation about the peer pressure of becoming "green".
For this installation, I culled the streets of New York gathering salvage, junk and found objects to design home furnishings. The reincarnated detritus (now furniture art) was exhibited in my duplex apartment located in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. Pictured from left, Buddhist Funk wine rack, My secret garden (wall sculpture) and The Fertility doll (speaker system). The acronym F.O.A.M. was and remains a parody of MOMA (The Museum of Modern Art, NY).
A social club for artist, F.O.A.M. was host to a series of "eco" events. Dubbed Black Sunday, local musicians, designers and one alchemist (YaYa Brooklyn) converged to exchange creative expression. And from these monthly jam sessions, Black Trash emerged...INNERBLAZE
